What about the Realness? A Comic Book about the Quest to find Identity in the Absurd

In this story the teenagers Ipi and Polly meet for the first time, while running away from home. In the middle of a dream-like magic forest they find out, that they have been living in a comic book. Faced with this new piece of knowledge, they have to go on a quest to make sense of their paradoxical world and themselves.

I created the book as part of my bachelor thesis in a time span of four months as part of my communication design study in Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. My Mentors were Prof. Georg Barber and Markus Färber. I drew each page in three layers with black pencils so I could later print them with exact colours. I also created my own comic font to use in this project. The book was later printed in HKS Offsetcolours that were specifically mixed for this project on the papers Holmen TRND and IGEPA Supreme.
